Swedish Health for Good

Swedish, a more than century-old mainstay of Seattle’s healthcare community, wanted to reinvigorate its brand with a new public-facing position - and a campaign to activate and engage the community. It also wanted to reaffirm its commitment to caregivers, and bring everyone along for the same personal journey: doing good equals feeling good.

The goal was to build awareness, affinity and preference in the Seattle and outlying areas. To do that, we created Health for Good, a campaign that generated positive sentiment about Swedish as a healthcare provider and an organization that was walking its talk - by doing actual good in the community.

Swedish moved from being a care partner to a health parter, in and out of its facilities, and made the connection - in advertising, activations and neighborhood engagement throughout the city - that the well-being of the individual is integral to the well-being of communities throughout the Puget Sound region.

Walking the talk, out in the community

Health for Good was never meant to be a media tactics-only campaign. It was equally, if not more, about facilitating and leaning into community engagement, beginning with the numerous partners Swedish already was working with in the community.

As the official team sponsor, Swedish held court at Seattle Storm games with Health for Good-inspired activities and fund-raising events that helped bring awareness to and support for organizations doing good in the community.

Swedish partnered with Mary’s Place to help raise donations for its patrons through the novel Tending Machine, which made its debut at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Through its partnership with KING5 in Seattle, Swedish was able to broadcast ongoing health education.

Swedish partnered with local farmers markets during their season, with a DIY smoothie bike (for fun) and matching donations for families with fewer resources and less access to fresh and nourishing food.

And Swedish also continued to partner with other health and community organizations to promote screening and prevention, community activism and health equality for all.
